Women’s basketball raffle to help fund Bahamas trip
The Bates College women’s basketball team will hold a raffle during the fall season to help fund the Bobcats’ December trip to the Bahamas, where the team will compete in the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout.
The team will play the Shorewomen of Washington College and the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College in the tournament, which takes place Dec. 18-21 at Paradise Island, outside of the capital city of Nassau.
“The women’s basketball program is fortunate to have the opportunity to compete against tough out-of-conference opponents who will help prepare us for the NESCAC season,” said head coach Jim Murphy ’69, who is entering his 14th season leading the team.

First Prize will be $1,500. Second Prize is an 80 GB iPod, and Third Prize is an iPod Nano.
