Schuler medals for golf team at Sid Farr Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine — Bates College sophomore Kurt Schuler earned medalist honors, leading the way to a second-place finish out of six teams for the Bobcats at the Sid Farr Invitational, hosted by Colby College at Waterville Country Club.
With a modified score of 28, Bates finished runner-up to Husson (41) and ahead of Southern Maine (24), UMaine-Farmington (22), the University of New England (22) and Colby (14).
Schuler (Windham, N.H.) shot a 75, two strokes better than the co-runners-up, Gus Thompson of Colby and Nick Pelletier of Husson.
He was followed by Bates teammates Jake Cox (Sammamish, Wash.), who was tied for eighth overall with an 82; junior Jeremy Rogalski (West Springfield, Mass.), who was tied for 16th at 85; sophomore Tom Bowden (Falmouth, Maine), who was tied for 23rd with an 88; and first-year Mike Kelen (Baltimore, Md.), who was tied for 25th with an 89.
