Bates men and women dominate CBB Regatta
OAKLAND, Maine — Bates College closed out its fall racing schedule with a dominating performance Saturday at the CBB Regatta, hosted by Colby College on a 2.5-mile course at Lake Messalonskee.
Racing was divided into three events. While all the men’s eights were run in one flight, the women’s crews were broken into traditional college divisions of Varsity and Novice.
In the Women’s Varsity event, the Bates first varsity crew won the event while the Bobcat 2V finished second ahead of Bowdoin and both Colby’s first and second varsity crews.

In the Women’s Novice event, the Bates first crew bested the field of six crews, with Bates’ second crew finishing fifth.

The men’s event also went to Bates’ top crew over the Colby varsity by 18 seconds. The Bobcat 2V placed third in the field of seven while the Novice finished sixth.
