Werblin’s goal in second OT lifts women’s soccer over Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine — Bates College junior forward Amy Werblin (Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored with just 2:52 left in the second overtime session to help the Bobcats earn a 1-0 win over Colby College on Saturday.
The Bobcats (4-10, 1-8 NESCAC) finished the season with their first conference win.
Bates had a 29-13 shot advantage in the game.
Senior goalkeeper Nini Spalding (San Francisco, Calif.) made six saves in getting the shutout for Bates, her third this season. Colby (4-7-3, 0-7-2 NESCAC) got nine stops from Kathleen Nicholson (Tuftonboro, N.H.).
Playing their final games for Bates were seniors Ali Emery (Richmond, Vt.), Jen Pflanz (Westwood, Mass.), Spalding and Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.).
