Divers lead swimming and diving team at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The divers took center stage for the Bates swimming and diving team Wednesday night in a dual meet at Bowdoin College. The Bobcats won three out of four diving events while Bowdoin took the team scores, 149-73 on the men’s side and 169-69 on the women’s side.

Bates senior Dan Perry (Exeter, N.H.) won first place in men’s 1-meter diving, with 219.90 points. Perry later took first place in 3-meter diving with 249.60 points.

Bates senior Tasha Rosener (Dillon, Colo.), meanwhile, won the women’s 3-meter diving with 238.28 points, ahead of runner-up Kirsten Chmielewski of Bowdoin (233.10). Chmielewski edged Bates sophomore Annaliese Rudis (North Andover, Mass.) in 1-meter diving by less than three points, 239.33 to 236.72.

The meet was the last one of the semester for Bates, which will take its annual training trip to Florida over winter break before hosting Middlebury on Jan. 13 at Tarbell Pool.
