Bates swimming and diving team co-captainDan Perry(Exeter, N.H.) reached new heights in his athletic career over the weekend, twice qualifying for his first trip to the NCAA Division III Championships while going 4-0 in his four events.In Bates’ home tri-meet against Norwich University and the University of New England on Saturday, Perry qualified for nationals for the first time in his career in the 1-meter event, scoring 276.90 points to take first place. Perry also won at 3 meters with 262.60 points.
The following day in a home dual meet against Middlebury, Perry again took first place in both diving events and did himself one better in the 1-meter, scoring 277.42 points. He followed that up by again taking first at 3 meters, with 246.30 points.

Any concerns that Bates junior diver Kelsey Lamdinwould need some time to return to form after spending last semester abroad were dashed last weekend.In her first meet back with the Bobcats on Saturday Lamdin (Brunswick, Maine) met the qualifying scores to compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the NCAA Division III Championships with first-place scores of 270.70 and 268.80 points, respectively in a home tri-meet against Norwich University and the University of New England.
Bates had another meet the following day against Middlebury, and there Lamdin again exceeded the NCAA standard, winning the 1-meter with 261.06 points, then scoring 256.95 points at 3 meters, second behind Middlebury’s Alanna Hanson.
