Philbrook named SAAC Student Athlete of the Month

Bates College senior David Philbrook (Portland, Maine) has been voted the SAAC Student-Athlete of the Month for January, the Bates Student Athlete Advisory Committee’s academic subcommittee announced today.
An economics major and a wide receiver on the football team, Philbrook is active in the investment club at as well as being heavily involved with alumni relations at Bates. He has maintained one of the highest grade point averages in the department.
Philbrook is a tutor for the economic department and is very involved in the affairs of the department. He has also done some acting in the theatre department at Bates. He is writing his thesis on foreign aid after spending a semester abroad last year in Prague.
Philbrook spent this past summer as an intern for the Credit Suisse Group in New York City and is set to go back to work for Credit Suisse following graduation. He just completed his four-year career on the Bates football team as a wide receiver, and was a NESCAC All-Academic selection his junior and senior years.
