Men’s squash finishes big weekend with win vs. F&M, loss to Trinity

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bates men’s squash team finished an exciting and fruitful weekend with a decisive win over Franklin & Marshall College at Yale and a decisive loss at nine-time defending national champion Trinity.

The day before at Yale University, Bates (3-3) routed Navy 9-0, making further claim to perhaps taking one of the top eight spots when the next College Squash Association rankings are released.

A day after defeating No. 8 Cornell, the No. 12 Bobcats had little trouble disposing of the No. 10 Midshipmen for their third win over a top-10 ranked opponent in the young season, then coasting past No. 16 F&M on Sunday.

Bates next competes on Friday Jan. 25, when the Bobcats host St. Lawrence University at 2 p.m., followed by a home match against George Washington University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
