Women’s squash faces Colby for third place in NESCACs

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Bates College women’s squash team will face Colby College on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. to determine third place in the NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship, after defeating Tufts in the quarterfinals and falling to Williams 9-0 in the semis.

The No. 3 seed Bobcats (8-8) swept all but the No. 1 position in a decisive victory over the No. 6 seed Jumbos Saturday morning, before losing to Williams in the semifinals for the second straight year in the tournament’s two-year history. Bates vies for its second third-place finish in as many years on Sunday: the Bobcats defeated Bowdoin 6-3 in last year’s third-place match.
