Host Swarthmore holds off women’s tennis team
SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The Bates College women’s tennis team fell 7-2 in a non-conference match at Swarthmore College on Monday, falling to 4-9 this year while the host Garnet raised their record to 9-4.
Senior Cecilia Grissa (Doylestown, Pa.) and sophomore Alexandra Piacquad (Yardley, Pa.) won a point for Bates with an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Jean Gulliver (Falmouth, Maine) won at No. 6 singles for Bates.
The Bobcats will finish their Southern swing with a match at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday.
