Bates crews tune up for CBB Presidents Cup at Worcester regatta
WORCESTER, Mass. — The No. 4 ranked Bates women’s varsity eight finished second only to No. 1 Trinity in a five-boat race Saturday in a regatta hosted by WPI.
Bates, the third-ranked WV8 in New England, rowed the 2,000-meter course in 6:55.86, second to Trinity (6:50.3) but ahead of No. 4 New Hampshire (7:01.74), WPI and Vassar.
Meanwhile the Bates men’s varsity eight, currently ranked No. 7 in New England, came in third out of four boats in its race, with No. 1 Trinity on top in 6:02.2, followed by No. 4 WPI (6:09.91), No. 7 Bates (6:14.55) and No. 6 New Hampshire (6:16.11).
Bates hosts the CBB Presidents Cup tomorrow at the Bates Boathouse in Greene, Maine, starting at 9 a.m.
