HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College junior safety Kyle McAllister earned NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week honors Sunday after his starring performance in Saturday’s 17-7 loss at Trinity College.

McAllister (Exeter, N.H.) made a game-high 13 tackles, including one for a loss, in the game. The conference leader in interceptions last season, McAllister also picked off a pass and returned it for 25 yards, and recovered a Trinity fumble in the game.

McAllister is the first Bates player to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors since Terence Ryan ’07 on Nov. 13, 2005.
