Kazarian’s two goals propel field hockey past Husson
LEWISTON, Maine — The Bates College field hockey team built a 3-0 lead and held off Husson College 3-2 in a non-conference matchup Wednesday at Campus Avenue Field. Bates raised its record to 3-5 overall, while Husson dropped to 1-5.
Bates sophomore forward Sema Kazarian (Providence, R.I.) scored the only goal of the game’s first 58 minutes, finding the right corner of the net 11 minutes left in the first half.

Kazarian made it 3-0 50 seconds later with another unassisted goal, her team-best sixth of the season.
The Eagles made things interesting with two straight goals in the final eight minutes. Senior Erin Nason (Unity, Maine), stationed near the left goalpost, slammed home a Lorri Hiltz (Norridgewock, Maine) assist with 7:45 left in the game. Sophomore Skye Ellis (Belfast, Maine) closed the gap to 3-2 with 1:55 remaining, knocking in a rebound.
