Women’s squash debuts with loss to Cornell at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bates College women’s squash team debuted the 2009 season with a decisive 9-0 loss to a much-improved Cornell team Friday night at Yale University.

Bates, ranked No. 12 by the College Squash Association, dropped to 0-1 while the No. 7 Big Red raised their record to 2-3.

Tomorrow at 1:15 p.m., the Bobcat women take on No. 6 Stanford at Yale, followed on Sunday with a pair of matches at Williams against No. 15 Middlebury and No. 9 Williams.
