WATERVILLE, Maine — First-year Kara Leasure won three events and senior Chris Berry did as well, highlighting the Bates swimming and diving teams’ dual meet at Colby on Saturday. The host Mules won in team points, 167-127 on the women’s side and 155.5-115.5 for the men.

Leasure (Los Alamos, N.M.) took first place (and posted personal records) in three events: the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:50.54, the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.68 and the 500 free in 5:17.61.

Sophomore Charlotte Green (New Canaan, Conn.) won the 100 free with a time of 54.64 seconds. Junior Katelyn Drake (Hudson, Ohio) won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.18, and junior Annaliese Rudis (North Andover, Mass.) took first place in both the 1-meter diving (211.25) and the 3-meter (228.20).

The Bates men concluded the meet with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Berry (August, Maine), first-year Ned Scott (Maplewood, N.J.), first-year Tom Boniface (Youngstown, Ohio) and first-year Nathaniel Depew (Hudson, Ohio) finished in 3:18.68.

Berry also edged Depew for first place in both the 100 backstroke, 55.65 to 56.21, and the 200 back, 2:04.13 to 2:05.63.

Scott also touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly, at 54.15

First-year Alex McKeown (South Windsor, Conn.) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.14.
