Men’s squash impressive in losses at Yale, Trinity

NEW HAVEN and HARTFORD, Conn. — The Bates College men’s squash team acquitted itself well in a pair of matches against some of the best teams in college squash on Saturday. No. 11 Bates fell at No. 3 ranked Yale by a 7-2 score before dropping an 8-1 decision at No. 1 Trinity.
First-year Bobby Burns (Greenwich, Conn.) was the star of the day for Bates (7-6), winning at the No. 6 spot in five games against both the Bulldogs and the Bantams. Junior Kush Mahan (Gainesville, Fla.) also defeated his Yale opponent at the No. 1 spot in impressive fashion, 3-1.
Other notable performances were turned in against Trinity by junior Jordan Greenberg (Malvern, Pa.) and sophomore Will Katz (Bronxville, N.Y.), who both played well in losing 3-1 at the third and second positions, respectively.
The Bobcats take on the Connecticut College Camels Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at Yale.
