NEW HAVEN, Conn. — With sophomore Nick Echeverria (Washington, D.C.) and senior captain Chip Russell (West Hartford, Conn.) on the bench due to injury, the Bates men’s squash team had no trouble defeating NESCAC opponent Connecticut College 8-1 on Sunday at Yale. The lone victory for the Camels came from All-American hopeful Antonio Diaz-Gonzalez over junior Kush Mahan (Gainesville, Fla.) in a tough three-game match at the No. 1 position.

Sophomore Dae Ro Lee (Yongin, South Korea), senior Charlie Johnson (Atlanta, Ga.) and senior Marc Taggart (Skippack, Pa.) all had dominating performances at the Nos. 9, 8 and 6 positions, respectively, and first-year Bobby Burns (Greenwich, Conn.) capped off his impressive weekend with another win, bringing his season record to 12-2.

The No. 12 ranked Bobcats are 8-6 on the season and travel back to Connecticut for a fourth consecutive weekend to do battle in the NESCAC Team Tournament at Trinity as the No. 3 seed behind Trinity and Williams.
