Women’s rowing ranked No. 3 nationally in preseason poll

LEWISTON, Maine — The Bates College women’s rowing team received a No. 3 national ranking in Division III as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing preseason polls were released.
Coming off of two straight top-five performances in the NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Championships, as well as an excellent fall season that included a second-place finish in the Head of the Charles, the Bobcats received 184 points in the poll, only one point behind No. 2 Trinity (185) and 17 points ahead of No. 4 Ithaca (167). Williams has the preseason No. 1 ranking with 199 points.
Two-time First Team All-America honoree Nicole Ritchie (East Dummerston, Vt.) leads the Bobcats to the start of spring competition on the weekend of April 4-5.
