HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College junior Vantiel Elizabeth Duncan was named the NESCAC Track & Field Women’s Field Performer of the Week on Monday for her impressive performance at Saturday’s Snowflake Classic at Tufts.

Duncan (Topsham, Maine) notched a personal best mark of 173-08 in the hammer throw at the meet, meeting the automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships despite it being her first hammer competition of the year. The two-time All-American was also fourth in the discus throw (112-04) and third in the shot put (39-07.75).

Duncan was joined among the NESCAc honorees on the men’s side by Bates sophomore Ryan Quinn (Watertown, Mass.), who was named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
