Caroline Thomas named All-NESCAC in women’s lacrosse

HADLEY, Mass. — For the second straight season, Bates College midfielder Caroline Thomas ’09 (Barrington, R.I.) earned NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Second Team honors, the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday.
Thomas, who had a breakout 2008 season with 38 goals and 15 assists, improved in each offensive category in 2009, notching 46 goals and 16 assists, boosting her career totals to 118 goals and 45 assists and a certain place among the best offensive players in the program’s history. A shifty attacker with excellent field vision and stick skills, she led Bates to its first appearance in the NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship since 2002.
Thomas ranked sixth in the NESCAC in points per game (3.88), fifth in goals per game (2.88) and tied for 12th in assists per game (1.00).
