Bates junior outside linebacker Myles Walker(Needham, Mass.) led a solid defensive effort against the most potent offense in the NESCAC on Saturday, as the Panthers came from behind in a 28-18 win over the Bobcats at Garcelon Field.Walker had a team-high 13 tackles, eight solo, in the game, and also forced a Middlebury fumble.
Walker is now Bates’ leading tackler on the year with 47, including 34 solo, tying him for eighth place in the conference in that category.

Bates senior outside hitterTess Dokus(Fairport, N.Y.) led the Bates volleyball team to a 4-0 week and the Bobcats’ first conference victory of the season. Dokus averaged 3.00 kills per set with a .329 attack percentage, along with 0.54 blocks per set.Dokus was named to the all-tournament team at the Bates Volleyball Classic over the weekend, along with teammates Grace Haessler, Liz Leberman and Avery Masters, as the Bobcats notched victories over the University of New England, Johnson & Wales and Maine Maritime. In the win over Maine Maritime, Dokus notched a match-high 12 kills with only two attack errors. Earlier in the week, Dokus had nine kills as Bates defeated Colby.
Dokus leads Bates in kills for the second straight year, at 2.49 kills per set.
