Home track and field meet kicks off with pentathlon
LEWISTON, Maine — Two members of the Bates College men’s indoor track and field team qualified for the New England Division III Championships with their performances Friday in the pentathlon segment of a four-team meet with Colby, Maine and Southern Maine.
Junior Brett Epler (Wellesley, Mass.) and first-year David Hardison (South Portland, Maine) will join first-year Jesse Chapman (East Thetford, Vt.) to compete in the penathathlon at New Englands, which Bates will host Feb. 19-20.
The Bates women’s team had impressive showings from junior Katherine Collet (Leawood, Kan.) and first-years Kathryn DeAngelis (Lewiston, Maine) and Andrea Remec (Elmira, N.Y.).
The rest of the meet takes place on Saturday starting at 12 noon inside Merrill Indoor Gymnasium.
