Men’s squash tops Amherst, falls to Ephs in NESCAC semis

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Bates men’s squash team doused Amherst 8-1 Saturday morning in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Championships, then fell to Williams 6-3 in a closely contested semifinal match.

Bates (18-7) will play Bowdoin tomorrow at 12 p.m. to determine third and fourth places in the conference.

The top three players in the Bates lineup — senior Kush Mahan (Kalamazoo, Mich.), senior Jordan Greenberg (Malvern, Pa.) and junior Will Katz (Bronxville, N.Y.) — all defeated their Williams opponent, the first two by 3-0 scores and the latter by a 3-2 count. All three players were 2-0 on the day for Bates.
