MINOT, Maine — Many coaches and staff members from the Bates Department of Athletics teamed up in a service project in conjunction with Rebuilding Together Lewiston/Auburn on May 22.
Earlier in the month, approximately 150 Bates student-athletes hosted the Third Annual SAAC Field Day program, leading and participating in a wide array of outdoor games and recreational activities.
The Bates Athletics staff members devoted a Saturday to work at a home in the nearby town of Minot. The project included installation of siding, the building of a small deck for the back door, and clearing an enormous amount of brush in preparation for an excavation project. Among those slated to participate in the project were Kevin McHugh, Brett Allen, Heidi Allen, Carol Carpentier, Rogan Connell, Nick Cormier, Pat Cosquer, Jon Furbush, Paul Gastonguay, Marsha Graef, Mark Harriman, Wynn Hohlt, Chris Kempton, Gwen Lexow, Jim Murphy, Peter Steenstra, Jim Taylor, Mike Verville, Daryle Weiss and Becky Woods.
