Leonhardt leads women’s cross country in four-team home meet

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — The Bates College women’s cross country hosted three tough rivals in a four-team “super” meet Saturday at the Bobcats’ home course, Pineland Farms. With each team’s top 10 runners counting toward the team scores, Colby scored a meet-low 119 points, followed by Bowdoin with 186, Tufts with 243 and Bates with 306.
Bates senior captain Kerri Leonhardt (Milford, N.J.) led the Bobcats by finishing the 5K course in 19:30, good for 10th place overall out of 92 runners. First-year Mira Carey-Hatch (Laconia, N.H.) was 19th at 19:56, followed by junior Jenny Monsulick (Readfield, Maine) in 24th, first-year Kallie Nixon (Medfield, Mass.) in 28th and senior Chloe Bourne (Litchfield, Conn.) in 30th, rounding out the team’s top five.
Bates runs at the Codfish Bowl next Saturday at Franklin Park.
