HARTFORD, Conn. — Hadley Duncan scored two goals to lead No. 11 nationally ranked Trinity College to a 5-1 win over the Bates College field hockey team in NESCAC action on Robin Sheppard Field Saturday. Payson Sword got the scoring started for the Bantams with a goal in the 11th minute. Lyndsey Shepard followed that up with her first career collegiate goal, giving the Bantams a 2-0 lead in the first half.
With just under four minutes remaining in the half, Bates junior Lyndsay Beaton (West Newbury, Mass.) brought the Bobcats within a goal after finding the back of the net for her team- and career-high third goal this season.
Duncan opened the second half with an immediate goal, and followed up with another later in the period.
