Women’s basketball goes to three overtimes at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine — Diana Manduca made a 10-foot jump shot with three seconds left in the third overtime period and Colby College had three players with double-doubles in scoring and rebounding in a wild 90-88 victory over the Bates College women’s basketball team on Friday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The teams played an overtime game for the second time this season, this time going an extra 15 minutes — Bates defeated Colby at home 93-87 in overtime on Jan. 6.
Colby moved to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC, while Bates fell to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Senior Christine McCall (Lowell, Mass.) had a career-high 19 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three assists, leading five Bobcats who scored in double figures. McCall played a team-high 49 minutes for Bates.
Sophomore Allie Beaulieu (Swampscott, Mass.) had 16 points and four assists, junior Annie Burns (Topsfield, Mass.) had 14 points and four assists, sophomore Brianna Hawkins (South Portland, Maine) added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and junior Lauren Dobish (Chambersburg, Pa.) had 10 points.
Manduca finished with 16 points and a game-high six steals while playing 51 minutes for the Mules. Meanwhile, Rachael Mack had 20 points and 11 rebounds, Jules Kowalski added 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Jil Vaughan finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior point guard Aarika Ritchie had 15 points and eight assists.
