Berg, No. 1 doubles win for men’s tennis at Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Bates first-year Tim Berg (Bradenton, Fla.) wrapped up a stellar rookie season with a three-set win at No. 3 singles, as the No. 24 nationally ranked Bobcat men’s tennis team suffered a 7-2 NESCAC defeat on Saturday at 10th-ranked Williams.

Bates’ top doubles pair, sophomores Matt Bettles (Taunton, England) and Rob Crampton (Wilton, England), notched another win against a tough opponent in Williams’ Bryan Chow and Matt Micheli, prevailing by an 8-6 score.

Bates finishes 8-10 overall and 3-5 in NESCAc play, Williams at 10-3 and 5-2.
