Men’s lacrosse team helps fight hunger at Good Shepherd
AUBURN, Maine — While they were doubtlessly champing at the bit for practice to get started on Feb. 15, the Bates men’s lacrosse team visited the Good Shepherd Food-Bank in Auburn on Jan. 28, to pitch in with the Food-Bank’s mission of helping Maine families fight hunger.
Good Shepherd’s volunteer coordinator, Elise Corbally-Hammond, told head coach Peter Lasagna afterward, “You have a great group of guys, and we couldn’t do what we do without support from groups like yours.”
The Bobcats started practice on Wednesday, Feb. 15, and will travel southward for a pair of scrimmages before their first official game, scheduled for Feb. 29 against Keene State at Garcelon Field. On Feb. 18, the Bobcats will scrimmage at Washington College in Chestertown, Md., and on Feb. 25 they’ll scrimmage at Drew University in Madison, N.J.
