Burns earns First Team All-NESCAC plaudits in men’s squash

HADLEY, Mass. — Bates senior Bobby Burns (Greenwich, Conn.) received the second First Team All-NESCAC honors of his career on Thursday, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference Men’s Squash teams.
Burns, who also received First Team recognition as a sophomore in 2010, led the Bobcats with a terrific senior season, going 11-13 against opponents’ top players in his first season as the No. 1 player in the Bobcats’ lineup. Some of the two-year captain’s wins came against challenging opponents as Middlebury, Brown, Colby and St. Lawrence. Burns went 6-4 against his fellow All-NESCAC honorees on the year.
