Women’s golf meets Bowdoin head-to-head at Martindale
AUBURN, Maine — Kendall Kyritz won medalist honors with a 79 to lead Bowdoin College to a 353-397 head-to-head victory against the Bates College women’s golf team on Saturday at Martindale Country Club.
Bates first-year Liz LaVerghetta (Norton, Mass.) matched Kyritz for the lowest nine-hole score of the day, shooting a 39 on the front nine before taking second place overall with an 84 over 18 holes. First-year Jess Plotnikov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) carded a 99 to place second for Bates and tie for fifth overall with Bowdoin’s Jacquie Maher. Juniors Jordan Banez (Fredericksburg, Va.) and Jenn Kulig (East Granby, Conn.) rounded out Bates’ scoring at 103 and 111, respectively.
