Beaulieu, Nason pick up Maine state hoops awards

A day after receiving NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, Bates senior Allie Beaulieu​ won the Maine Player of the Week award, while first-year teammate Chelsea Nason was named Rookie of the Week by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.

Matarazzo, men’s hoops rally past Colby, 67-57

Bates junior Luke Matarazzo scored 20 of his 27 points in the second half to vault the Bobcats to a 67-57 win over Colby in the teams’ annual non-conference matchup on Saturday. Colby led by as many as 16 points in the first half, but Bates outscored the Mules 46-21 in the second half.
