Women’s track posts fast times at Terrier Invitational
BOSTON — The Bates women’s indoor track and field team had representatives competing in five events on Friday at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University, posting impressive times against on BU’s banked track against competition from all divisions.
Senior Bud Arens (Weymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Fusco (Cheshire, Conn.) both ran strong times in the 800 meters, with Arens’ 2:15.46 putting her 17th among 111 runners in the event overall, from all divisions. Fusco was 19th in a career-best 2:16.08, improving her standing as fourth on Bates’ all-time list in the event.
Junior Kallie Nixon (Medfield, Mass.) finished the 1,000 in 3:09.55, 19th best out of 36.
first-year Alexis Dickinson (Brunswick, Maine) ran the 200 in 27.20 seconds.
Senior Alicia Fannon (Haverhill, Mass.) finished 40th among 66 runners in the 5,000, in 18:21.19.
Fusco, Arens, Dickinson and Flanagan ran a 4:07.48 4×400 relay.
Bates competes as a fuller team on Saturday at the USM Invitational in Gorham, Maine.
