Women’s alpine third in slalom at St. Lawrence

Led by Avril Dunleavy’s fifth-place showing, the Bates women’s alpine team placed three skiers in the top 13 and four in the top 17, finishing third among 13 squads in the slalom races as the St. Lawrence Carnival concluded at Whiteface Mountain.

Women nipped in the end, men swim tough vs. Bowdoin

Outstanding swims were numerous, and senior diver Travis Joneshad a great final home meet, as the Bates swimming and diving teams played host to Bowdoin on Friday night at Tarbell Pool. The visiting Polar Bears prevailed in women’s team scoring by a mere 149-139 margin, while the Bowdoin men outscored Bates 177-121.

Parris wins at top spot against No. 7 Stanford

While injury problems with Nessrine Ariffin have been unfortunate for the Bates women’s squash team, senior captain Cheri-Ann Parris has responded extremely well in her return to the No. 1 position for the Bobcats, the spot in the lineup that she anchored in her first two years at Bates.

Women’s squash scores 6-3 win over visiting Amherst

No. 13 nationally ranked Bates defeated No. 19 Amherst 6-3 on Tuesday night at the Bates Squash Center in a matchup of NESCAC women’s squash teams. Bates received a 3-0 win from senior Cheri-Ann Parris at the No. 1 position to pace the team victory.

Men’s squash rolls over Amherst at home, 9-0

The No. 14 nationally ranked Bates men’s squash team had little trouble in defeating NESCAC rival Amherst College on Tuesday night at the Bates Squash Center, putting down the No. 23 Lord Jeffs by a 9-0 score and allowing the visitors only two games won.
