Women’s tennis challenges No. 1 Amherst

As the eighth seed in the 2013 Nor’easter Bowl, co-hosted by Wellesley College and Brandeis University, the No. 29 nationally ranked Bates women’s tennis team drew NESCAC rival Amherst in the first round and accepted a 9-0 loss.

The Bates women’s track and field team opened the outdoor season on Saturday with an impressive effort in a tri-meet at the University of Maine. The host Black Bears won the team scoring with 147 points, followed by New Hampshire with 136 and Bates with 112.
