- Need help in pre-configuring your computer to the Bates network before you arrive on campus? We can assist you with Remote Support to any online computer for the installation and setup of our required and recommended software. Appointments suggested (207-786-8222), as these sessions can average 45 minutes.

Order the latest MS Office suite for either Mac (2008) or Windows (2007) from eAcademy. Please order ahead of time, as this takes 7-10 days to deliver. Also plan on having it mailed to your home, so that you can get ahead by installing and running the software before you come to campus.
- Update your Windows XP operating system to SP3, and other needed express updates, Windows Vista should have SP1, and all express updates. This process can take up to an hour or more.
NOTE: Macintosh Snow Leopard operating system 10.6 is not currently supported. 8/28/09+ - Lost your e-mail password and need it before returning to campus? Please fax us a Sponsored Password Change Form (with picture ID).
- Download and Install Sophos Anti-Virus for: Windows / Mac and be sure to keep the updates current.
- Forgot your PIN to access your course schedule and student records? Garnet Gateway PIN resets are available at Help Desk Services
Passwords:
First Year Students will access their password change tokens from the Garnet Gateway this summer. Any First Year Student who does not have computer access to Garnet Gateway, should fill out and fax the Sponsored Password Change Form, with picture ID to number listed on the sheet.
Returning students should look for reminders to change their password in their e-mail. Passwords are required to be changed each year.
