PRESENTATION BY GRID SOLAR, LLC on renewable energy production in Maine. The Gridsolar Project proposes the use of distributed solar generation to provide grid reliability services is a cost-effective alternative to spending billions of dollars on transmission reliability upgrades, while providing significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and serving as the catalyst for the creation of thousands of “green” jobs in Maine.  GridSolar is seeking to be a transmission and distribution utility in Maine, regulated by the Maine Public Utilities Commission. Thursday, November 19 at 4:10 pm in Pettengill G65.  Sponsored by Energy Action Movement

Thursday at 7:30 PM Gannett Theater - THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE:  The Hospital Plays: From the HB Playwright Short Play Festival. Directed by students in Professor Paul Kuritz's directing class. http://www.bates.edu/x181094.xml

Come to the VILLAGE CLUB SERIES this Thursday night to take a break from studying and listen to piano player/singer songwriter Shannon Corey!  "Pulling influences from the likes of Ben Folds, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos, piano player/singer songwriter and Yamaha Artist Shannon Corey truly reflects a beautiful new vibe of sensuous class. Originally from Providence, RI, Shannon's infectious pop-rock-classical sound... was recently featured on an episode of MTV's The Real World: Cancun. Her new EP Overdue was released in September of 2009. The five-song disc, named after one of Shannon’s newest fan favorite songs, is appropriately titled. After two years of touring, writing, and composing, since the release of her first album, Shannon displays her growth as not only a musician, but as a singer. The new EP is much more advanced by way of writing and vocals, explains Shannon. ?My voice has turned into something very different since unsaid; more emotional and influenced by artists like Jeff Buckley and Rocco DeLuca."  As always, the show is at 9 pm in the Benjamin Mays Center, and the usual cookies, chai, cider, tea and coffee will be served! What better way to spend a chilly November evening...  Note: Craig Cardiff, originally scheduled to play VCS this week, had to cancel due to extenuating circumstances beyond our control. We apologize to all of you who were looking forward to hearing Craig play; we hope to have him back at Bates soon.  Bio from http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=82017
