Thirteen after the genocide, Ndahayo meets his father's killers for the first time. Are the killers speaking the truth, and only the truth? How much does the filmmaker know about the execution of his father and the killings of his 200 people in his courtyard behind this convent? And in the aftermath of genocide, how does the country resume life with more than one million lives perished? Civil relations between a filmmaker and those involved with a genocide that took the lives of family members are depicted unimaginably. By filming his own family tragedy, Ndahayo's first feature documentary landmark film about genocide that creates a stark contrast to the existing stories on tutsi genocide. NDAHAYO BIO'S: From a survivor of genocide, an orphaned child soldier, Gilbert Ndahayo struggles to pick up his life. He turns to a tradition of his ancestors: storytelling. In 2007, he was an invited speaker to the UN and his debut short "Scars of my days" was honored in New York's Tribeca Film Festival with an attendance of President Paul Kagame and Bill Clinton.
