Professor Baker’s research interests include the role of the host immune system in alveolar bone loss (T cells, cytokines, MHC); the genetics of susceptibility and resistance to alveolar bone loss; animal models of periodontal disease; host response to bacterial infection (Porphyromonas gingivalis; Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans); and medicinal plants (interactions with the immune system)
Professor Baker is now Dean of the Faculty and VP for Academic Affairs.
