Three major constructions projects that began in 2006 were all complete by 2008: new student housing near Mount David; a new dining Commons to replace outmoded facility in Chase Hall; and Alumni Walk, a cross-campus pedestrian walkway to connect the two and redefince the campus center. The projects were the first to emerge from Bates' comprehensive facilities planning process.
