Student Programming Fellows

Student Programming Fellows are employed by Campus Life to assist student event/program planners with coordinating logistics related to their event/program. They also staff many campus events.

What is a pro-tip that you have for event planning?

  • I’ve learned that it’s best to start planning early!

What is your favorite day in Commons?

  • Vegan Pad Thai!

What is your favorite Bates event that you have attended so far?

  • Definitely Gala- the decorations are beautiful and everyone looks so nice dressed up.

If you could choose a celebrity or important figure that you had on speed dial for personal and life advice (and they would always pick up) who would you choose and why?

  • I wish I had Tina Fey on speed dial! I feel like she would give meaningful but funny advice.

  • I set ramen on fire in the microwave once.

What Clubs or Organizations are you involved in?

  • I play soccer and ultimate frisbee at Bates, and I’m most likely going to major in psychology.

What is a pro-tip that you have for event planning?

  • One thing that is always helpful when planning an event is getting started early, so that when something goes not as planned, you have plenty of time to fix it.

What is your favorite day in Commons?

  • The best Common’s meal, in my opinion, is the pad-Thai at the vegan bar

What is your favorite Bates event that you have attended so far?

  • The best event I’ve been to at Bates so far was the 80’s Dance.

If you could choose a celebrity or important figure that you had on speed dial for personal and life advice (and they would always pick up) who would you choose and why?

  • Alex Trebek–he’s always got the answers.

  • When I was in elementary school, due to my extremely long hair, I was often mistaken for a girl.

  • There are many marketing techniques that are free and accessible, including using the color printers at Ladd or Coram Library

  • Pho day or Pad Thai day

  • Late Night at the Den

  • Julie Delpy; I would love to discuss philosophies of life with her through the lenses of her stories and her movies Before Sunrise/ Sunset/ Midnight

  • I surfed more in Canada than I did in Hawaii, where I went to high school

  • I am the equity officer for the Model UN team and am part of Dinner Table.

What is a pro-tip that you have for event planning?

  • I have learned that when planning events you can never start too early.

What is your favorite day in Commons?

  • My favorite day in commons is obviously taco day or when they have vodka sauce for pasta.

What is your favorite Bates event that you have attended so far?

  • My favorite event that I have attended would have to be the Halloween dance–it’s so fun to see everyone dressed up in cool costumes.

If you could choose a celebrity or important figure that you had on speed dial for personal and life advice (and they would always pick up) who would you choose and why?

  • I would pick Obama because I feel like he’s gone through a lot and would give some A+ life advice.
