Post jobs and internships
The Bates Career Development Center will support your recruiting efforts to find the best match for jobs and internships in your company. We maintain a proprietary online database that is accessed exclusively by Bates students called Handshake.
Bates maintains an extensive proprietary database of jobs and internships accessible to Bates students and alumni. Handshake allows employers to register and maintain their own job postings. To set up an account (or request access to the Bates College system) go to handshake.bates.edu.
The BCDC is also happy to post jobs for you. Email a job description with deadlines and contact information to email@example.com and we will post it to our system.
We encourage our students to plan strategically for internships and summer opportunities soon after they get settled at Bates. We facilitate the exploration of a wide variety of careers and experiences. Bates also offers several unique internships for Bates students such as the Purposeful Work Internship Program and the Career Discovery in Practice job shadow program.
Although Bates College does not offer academic credit for internships, the College has recently implemented a policy that allows students to apply for a notation on their transcript regarding completion of an internship when the company requires academic credit for the internship. Our complete policy on transcript notations can be found here.
As a member of the Liberal Arts Career Network, Bates can post your internship and entry level jobs to an online database that is exclusive to 70,000 students at a group of 31 selective and highly selective liberal arts colleges around the country.
