- Join Bates alumni Russell Swapp ’80 and Dhariana Gonzalez ’12, from the Boston law firm Seyfarth Shaw, on Tuesday, March 25 from 12:00-1:00pm in Chase 203 (Hirasawa). They will discuss what it’s like to work as a paralegal in a large firm, current law firm environments and opportunities for graduating seniors with Seyfarth’s Global Mobility Group where Russell is a partner and Dhariana a paralegal focusing on immigration law. Pizza will be served.
- The Crime Analyst and Community Resource Team of the Lewiston Police Department is seeking a summer intern to document and potentially help publish an article that highlights the crime reduction strategies that have been implemented by the Lewiston Police Department since 2012 in what is known as Operation Hot Spot. The internship will include interviewing participants and organizers of the program and assist with documenting the enforcement actions, community outreach efforts, situational prevention strategies and social service components that make up the Hot Spots policing strategies in Lewiston’s transitioning neighborhoods. This is an unpaid internship and candidates will be required to pass a basic criminal background check prior to selection. The selected candidate will report to the department’s crime analyst.
