My research interests lie in the application of transition metal catalyzed oxidative carbon-hydrogen (C-H) amination to the synthesis of heterocyclic molecules possessing a cyclic urea group. These include benzimidazolone, imidazopyridine and 8H-purin-8-one derivatives. Such heterocyclic systems form the core of a variety of biologically active small molecules. The C-H amination approach represents an efficient and environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional means of synthesizing these compounds.
