About the Office

Cultivating Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The Office of Equity and Diversity advances the college’s commitment to equity and diversity by implementing and supporting campus-wide initiatives that strategically and proactively promote a culture of inclusiveness.

The office develops innovative educational programs and training activities specific to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, and harassment prevention that will enhance intercultural competence and promote an affirming environment in which all can flourish. The office also monitors compliance with federal Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action regulations.

The Title IX Officer ensures compliance with other non-discrimination statutes, such as Titles VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, the State of Maine Human Rights Act, and college policies.
