Goals of a Bates Education 2004-2005

Designs I, II, III and Foundation Posters
May 20, 2005

In 2003-2004 the Bates faculty began a discussion of the goals of a Bates Education that culminated in a December vote to go forward.  In March a process was voted on and the Coordinating Committee and the Design Team were chosen.

This website will present notes from the many open meetings sponsored by the Coordinating Committee, copies of emails from the group offering discussion topics and sometimes reporting on what we have heard.  We hope that faculty will use the website as a means of learning what their colleagues are thinking.  We are also always interested in comments from faculty, about the information presented here, or other thoughts related to our goals for a Bates education.
