Bronwyn Sale
Bronwyn Sale is Lecturer of Education and Acting Chair for Fall 2011.
Bronwyn Sale’s research interests include creativity studies, specifically, understanding the ways in which teachers at all levels can design instructional experiences that promote, rather than inhibit student creativity; as well as arts education and strategies for equalizing educational opportunity in the US. She is also an Artist working primarily in drawing and painting.
Prior to coming to Bates, she was a public school teacher for 14 years. During that time she taught students in a wide range of grades and settings. During her career she taught social studies and most recently, visual art. She looks forward to inspiring, and supporting others who want to become teachers.
She received her B.A. from the University of Virginia, and M.S. Ed. from the University of Southern Maine.
