Rangeley II

Trip Description

Begin by hiking along the Appalachian Trail up Surplus Mountain in the beautiful Grafton Notch State Park and staying at a lean-to the first night. Continue hiking the next day to South Arm Campsite on Lower Richardson Lake and meet up with your opposing trip. Canoe the following day through The Narrows and into Upper Richardson Lake while surrounded by breathtaking mountains and walking trails on shore.

*Rangley I & II share the same itinerary, but are run in opposite directions.

Wil Muller

First-years, welcome to Bates! My name is Wil Muller and with a personality somewhere between Tony Perkis and Jeff Lebowski, I would be pumped with the help of the better half of our leader team – aka Sophie – to welcome you to Bates! As an Economics and German major, I stay pretty busy but am fortunate enough to be a member of the second best team on campus (next to the AESOP Leader Team), the Baseball team.  I hail from Toledo, OH and am likely the largest Wilhelm you have ever met. So join Sophie and I for a sweeeet time!

Sophie Baron

Hey guys! I’m Sophie (yes, just like your dog’s name). I do respond to “here girl” and enjoy eating dog treats and getting scratched behind the ear. Just kidding!  I’m from Lexington, MA, a psychology major, and Spanish and Philosophy minors. So psyched to have you guys on our trip! Wil and I are going to make it so much fun! (Ladies, my co-leader Wil is a complete baseball stud and is really fun and awesome- but don’t get any ideas). Just imagine: playing mafia, swimming off the canoes, singing ‘Just around the river bend’, makin s’mores, and just killin it!
