Mt. Blue II
Trip Description
Mt. Blue State park in Weld, ME offers amping on the shore of Webb Lake that will provide ample opportunities to remain refreshed in the heat of August. Situated on the other side of the lake is 3,187-foot Mt. Blue, a popular day hike and a great opportunity to test out your hiking boots! You may even get the chance to hike up Tumbledown Mtn. on one of the days and take a dip in the alpine pond near the summit. So definitely bring your suits and boots because this trip will be full of swimming and hiking!
*Mt. Blue I & II follow the same itinerary.
Amy Strada
Hello everyone! My name is Amy, and you can call me that.. or you can call me ‘Cat’ or ‘DJ Strada’. (I’ll explain later.) I’ll start out with that boring stuff — I’m a rising senior, as well, and I’m from a tiny, horse-riddled town called North Salem in New York. My major is English and my minor is Sociology. I’ve spent the last year abroad in Copenhagen, but I’m so excited to be home and back in Maine! I’ve absolutely adored my time at Bates, and I’ve joined the debate team, mock trial, the newspaper, and work for the BCDC. ANYWAY — what you really need to know about me is that I love a good pun, I’m an avid New York Rangers fan, I’m kinda/sorta/really into cats, and I’m so incredibly stoked that Evan and I are leading this AESOP! Y’all should be, too. See you guys in August! (Oh — by the way: my birthday is August 30, and we’ll definitely be celebrating!)
Evan Binder
Hey everyone! I’m Evan and I am a diehard New York Jets fan, love board games, and am really excited to be leading an AESOP! (Bet you thought I would start off with the boring stuff first.) Just to get that stuff out of the way, I’m a rising senior from West Hartford, CT majoring in politics and minoring in philosophy. Here at Bates, I am a member of the debate team and mock trial team, which may lead you to believe that I am just a stuffy academic stuck in the library all day, but don’t worry — I’m way more fun than that (at least I hope). If you need further proof that I can let loose and have some fun, search me on YouTube, and you’ll see ‘The Real Slim Shady’ in action (taken while I was studying abroad in Namibia, which was one of the greatest experiences of my life). Hope to see you at Mount Blue II!
