Everything Else

Just because a trip doesn’t fit neatly into a category doesn’t mean it’s not an amazing experience!

Maine Coast Sailing- (Level 2)

This be a press gang, impressing ye swabbies to a life of tutelage on the good-ship Freshboat. You’ll be in charge of: trimming the foresail, plotting charts, swimming, keeping a weather eye out for dangerous shooting stars, trail blazing, heaving to, singing mad shanties, and keeping the parrot company. Our voyage will take us right through Maine’s Forgotten Coast, where find ye mad creatures of the deep, snarlin’ lobster men of the North, the skeletons of voyages past, and SO MUCH BURRIED TREASURE. Probably about a brigs worth, maybe two. So hop aboard this fine seagoin’ vessel with Captains Chaos and Faceplant, forge bonds with your maties that may be broken only by the grip of Davey Jones, and earn your sea legs, or walk the plank.

Surfing I- (Level 1) Kate & Dan

Glistening water, sweltering sand, and two of the coolest people you will ever meet in your life. What more could you ask for? Come surf the thrilling waves of beautiful Maine beaches with Dan and Kate! Kelly Slater once described Maine as having the best waves in the world (no need to fact-check this). This trip is open to all levels, whether you are a professional surfer or have never before seen the ocean. Get ready to learn how to surf, play volleyball, roast marshmallows, and have the most amazing three days of your life! If you enjoy adventures, sleep talking/walking, getting wonderfully tan before school starts, and creating beautiful friendships this trip is for YOU! Also, we both have green eyes. Just saying.

Surfing II- (Level 1) Pete & Sally

Wanna get ripped, shred some dope waves or just plain chill on the beach? Brochinos and chicas, come shred the gnar gnar with us on the strikingly beautiful coast of Maine. Get this: YOU, your amazing new friends, and your surf gods, Pete (aka Ryan Gosling) and Sexy Sally, thrashing around the beaches of Maine and getting unbearably chiseled and tan all at the same time! Sick, right? Did we  mention we are expert chillers too? After a strenuous day of strait up awesomeness, you get to strip out of that tight wet suit and consume your body weight in s’mores, Nutella, and, our personal favorite, THE MEATSTICK, while laughing around the fire! If you like to have a good time, laugh a lot, and wear minimal clothing this is the AESOP for you. Mahalo brahs!

In the island playground of Acadia who knows quite what we’ll get into, but we promise we’ll provide adventure, vistas, and the chance to gloat to all your new friends when you return to the Lew. Kayaking - (Level 3) Mo & Ben

FIRST KAYAKING AESOP TRIP EVER?! Yes, it’s true. Come partake in the best four days of your life with Ben (who’s ridiculously good looking) and Mo (who can take you on a magical carpet ride) as they kayak through Vacationland and properly enjoy all that Maine’s glorious shores have to offer. Once you recover from taking in all the scenery, paddling our hearts out and becoming one with nature we can finish the day with some s’mores handcrafted (and served with loving care) by Ben himself. So if you want the inside scoop on life at Bates from two of campus’ most fearless and valuable assets, look no further! We’re already making our van playlist, and if you’re lucky, the two of us might even serenade you the whole ride up…can’t wait to see you there!
