Biking in Acadia

Trip Description

This exciting new trip will explore Acadia State Park on bikes! (Why didn’t we think of this before?!) Winding through the heart of the park, you will travel over 45 miles on historic carriage roads passing pedestrians and horses alike and learning about the history of the park. Cycling around Eagle Lake and Bubble Pond may call for a dip in the refreshing water and riding back on the park Loop Road calls for some scenic views for sure. You won’t want to miss out on this adventure!

*If you sign up for this trip, we encourage that you to provide your own bike and helmet as our bike supply is currently limited.

Mia Taggart

A very proud Maine Native, hailing from the town of the bean boot itself, I am quite enamored with the idea of spending a few days turning pedals with some lovely humans in the MOST BEAUTIFUL PART OF MAINE.  I am the youngest of two, I eat cereal generally more than once daily (wait until you see the selection in commons!), I always have a song in my head (which most often I will share with you), and I don’t eat white condiments.  I took a year off before coming to Bates, over which I picked up a good amount of Italian, and worked on my Spanish, and I dare say I can’t shake a few select phrases of each language from my vocabulary.  So if you’re up for a trilingual adventure: ANDIAMO AMIGOS!!

Collin McCullough

Collin McCullough here. I’d like to describe my looks to you, but by August I don’t even know myself. I’ve rocked the flow, the mullet, the justache, the crew-cut-clean-shaven, and I’m currently working on the second of what will be a four-month beard. I bleed Garnet, toss disc on the ultimate team, and make a bomb chai at Le Ronj. I try to find a board for my feet in all seasons and I’m out in the Rocky Mountains for a semester at NOLS until May. I like cinnamon toast crunch. No regrets is my motto. I swear by Kerouac. Want to know more? Come pedal it with me in Acadia for a few days before school starts up.
